We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: Lochaber Pride has been awarded funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund. This support is a huge boost for our work, helping us grow our outreach, strengthen our community connections, and delivering events that celebrate inclusion and local heritage.
Schools Outreach
One of our core commitments is engaging with young people. Through presentations and information sharing sessions in schools, we open up conversations about identity, diversity, and belonging. These activities aren’t just about Pride—they’re about giving young people the tools to celebrate themselves and respect others. With this funding, we can expand our reach, create resources rooted in local culture, and ensure that every child feels part of the story we’re telling.
Community Engagement
Our calendar is filled with events that bring people together—whether it’s crafting evenings at our informal drop-ins, or 10 pin bowling, its where our community can connect. These gatherings are about more than visibility; they’re about building bridges across generations and backgrounds. The Communities Fund support allows us to make these events more accessible, more creative, and more representative of the diverse voices in Lochaber.
The Main Event – 28th June
Of course, the highlight of our year is the Pride celebration itself. On 28th June, Lochaber will come alive with colour, music, and solidarity. This year’s event will be bigger and bolder, thanks to the funding. We’re planning a parade that reflects both our local landscape and our shared values, followed by performances, stalls, and spaces for reflection at the Nevis Centre. It’s not just a party—it’s a statement of belonging and joy.
Shared Values
What makes this partnership with the National Lottery Communities Fund so meaningful is how closely our values align. Their mission is to support projects that bring people together and strengthen communities. That’s exactly what Lochaber Pride stands for. We believe in celebrating identity while weaving it into the fabric of local culture, ensuring that inclusion isn’t an add-on but a core part of community life.
This funding is more than financial support—it’s recognition that our work matters, that our vision resonates, and that our community deserves to be celebrated.
